Create digital cards in a different language

Learn how all users can customize Popl digital business cards into any language by manually editing text fields and link titles.

Overview

This is available to all Popl users. Popl allows you to create digital business cards in any language by customizing the text fields throughout your card.

Note: Popl currently does not automatically translate text—you’ll need to type your translations manually or use services like Google Translate.


Creating a card in another language

You have two ways to start building a card in another language:

Duplicating an existing card

Use this method if you want the new card to be an exact copy of your current card:

  1. Log in to your dashboard at dash.popl.co.

  2. Click on the desired card.

  3. Click the three dots in the top right corner.

  4. Click Duplicate Card.

The new card will be created with all existing fields, ready for you to translate.

Creating a new card from scratch

Use this method if you prefer a blank slate:

  1. Log in to your dashboard at dash.popl.co.

  2. Click into your member profile.

  3. Click the dropdown bar on the center right of the dashboard.

  4. Select Create a New Card.

  5. Enter a new card title.

  6. Click Continue, then Create Card.

This will create a completely new card without any pre-filled information.


Translating text fields

After creating or duplicating your card, manually update all text fields to your desired language. This includes:

  • Name

  • Job Title

  • Bio

  • Other text fields available on your card

Simply edit each field and enter the translated text.

Remember: Popl does not automatically translate content.

Common issue: If your translated text isn’t displaying correctly, double-check that you’ve saved all changes and that special characters are supported in your chosen language.


Customizing link titles into another language

To translate your link titles:

  1. Click on the link you’d like to edit.

  2. Click the Link Title field.

  3. Enter your translated text.

  4. Click Update to save your changes.


Customizing the Lead Capture Form into another language

To translate fields on your lead capture form:

  1. Click into your profile.

  2. Click Lead Capture.

  3. Click into each field and enter your translated text.

  4. Click Update to save changes.

This ensures the form is user-friendly for non-English speaking contacts.


Customizing the “Save Contact” button

Currently, the text on the Save Contact button cannot be changed directly in the dashboard. To translate this button:

  • Email [email protected] with the exact text you’d like to display.

  • Popl’s team will process the request, usually within 24-48 hours.
