Required Subscription: Event Lead Capture
Ask Popl connects your Popl data to the AI tool your team already uses, so that you can ask questions about your leads and events in Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot.
The Ask Popl page in the side menu is where you pick your AI tool, find ready-to-run prompts, and launch it. You can also launch Ask Popl from the Leads page, the Integrations page, and an event's Performance section.
Before You Start
Anyone on an ELC team, admin or member, can use the Ask Popl page. Setting the team default requires Full Team Admin access.
Ask Popl is available only on the web dashboard. There is nothing to set up on mobile.
You need an account with Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot, with Ask Popl connected to it. Each tool has its own setup article, listed under Related Articles below.
How It Works
Behavior | What It Means |
Three supported tools | You can choose Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot. |
The first admin pick sets the team default | The first Full Team Admin to select a tool sets the team default. Everyone on the team sees that tool by default, marked Team Default. |
Your own pick stays yours | Choosing a different tool changes it for you only. The team default does not change. |
Every launch point opens a popup first | The buttons on the Leads, Integrations, and event pages open a launch popup. None of them open your AI tool directly. |
No tool picked yet? The popup asks first | If no tool is selected, the popup asks you to pick one before you can launch. |
Picking a tool does not connect it | Selecting a tool in Popl sets which one you launch. Ask Popl still needs to be connected inside that tool once, using How to set up. |
Other tools are request-only | Use a different AI tool? Send your request to Popl. It does not change your tool or the team default. |
Setting Up Ask Popl
Pick Your AI Tool
In the side menu, click Ask Popl.
The button changes to Launch [Tool], for example, Launch Claude. If you are the first Full Team Admin to pick a tool, it becomes your team default.
If you have not connected Ask Popl in that tool yet, click How to set up below the button and follow the steps.
Switch Your Own Tool
On the Ask Popl page, click the arrow on the right side of the Launch [Tool] button.
Choose a different tool. This changes it for you only.
Set or Change the Team Default
This option is available to Full Team Admins only.
Click the arrow on the right side of the Launch [Tool] button.
Open the 3-dot menu next to the tool you want.
Select Set Team Default. The Team Default tag moves to that tool for everyone on the team.
Request a Tool
Open the tool dropdown and choose Use a different AI tool?
Enter the tool you use in What AI tool do you use? and click Submit.
Note: A request does not set up or select that tool. It tells our team which tools to support next.
Using Ask Popl
Start from a Prompt
The Ask Popl page has three use case cards, each with a prompt you can copy.

Click View prompt on a card to see the full prompt.
Copy the prompt.
Click Launch [Tool], paste the prompt, and replace the bracketed placeholders, like the event name, with your own details.

Each one opens the launch popup with Launch [Tool], How to set up, and Show me use cases.
What to Expect
Once you pick a tool, the Ask Popl page shows Launch [Tool], and the page background changes to match your tool.
After a Full Team Admin sets a default, everyone on the team sees the Team Default tag on that tool.
Launch [Tool] opens your AI tool. Ask Popl can only answer once it is connected to that tool.
Nothing changes in the mobile app.
Troubleshooting
Issue | What to Do |
I see "Upgrade to Access Ask Popl" | Ask Popl is part of the ELC Plan. Click Book a Demo to talk to our team about upgrading. |
My AI tool opens but cannot see my Popl data | Ask Popl is not connected in that tool yet. Click How to set up and follow the setup article for your tool. |
My teammate launches a different tool than I do | Personal picks override the team default for that person only. They can switch back from the dropdown on Launch [Tool]. |
I cannot find Set Team Default | Only Full Team Admins can change the team default. |

Can I change the prompts? | Yes. Once you paste a prompt into your AI tool, edit it however you like before running it. |
