This article explains how admins can manage tags in Popl Teams. Tags are powerful tools for organizing, filtering, and segmenting your leads. Only admins can create and edit team-wide tags in the dashboard.
Tags help keep your team organized by grouping leads based on events, locations, campaigns, or other custom criteria relevant to your organization.
Accessing the Tags page
To access the Tags page:
Log in to the Popl dashboard at dash.popl.co.
Click Leads in the left sidebar.
Select Tags.
Creating a new tag
Follow these steps to create a new tag:
1. From the Tags page, click Create New Tag.
2. Enter a Tag Name.
3. Choose the level of access for the tag:
Full team
Specific subteams (you can select multiple subteams)
4. Click Create.
5. To assign the tag to leads immediately, click Tag Leads and select the leads you’d like to tag.
Assigning tags to leads
To assign an existing tag to leads:
Click the Tag Leads button on the Tags page.
Use the checkboxes next to profile photos to select individual leads, or use Select all to choose all visible leads.
In the bottom black bar, click Assign Tag.
Keep in mind: Tags make it easy to categorize and later filter or search for specific lead groups.
Editing tag access
Admins can control who can use each tag:
Find the tag you’d like to edit on the Tags page.
Click the gear icon under the Tag Access column.
In the popup, choose whether the tag should:
Be available to the full team
Be limited to one or more specific subteams
Save your changes.
This ensures only the relevant team members have access to certain tags, helping maintain data privacy and organizational structure.
Managing tags
From the Tags page, admins can also:
View tag details: See who created each tag, the creation date, and how many leads are currently tagged.
Edit tag names: Change the tag's name for clarity or consistency.
Delete tags: Remove tags that are no longer needed. Deleting a tag removes it from all associated leads.
Filtering and searching with tags
Tags can also be used for filtering and searching within your leads list.
Simply apply tags as filters to quickly identify and work with specific groups of leads.
Common issue: If a tag isn’t visible to certain users, check tag access settings to confirm the tag is shared with the correct subteams or full team.
