Share Your Digital Business Card

This section covers how to present and share your digital card in person or remotely.

Ways to Share:

  • QR Code: Show your QR for quick scans

  • NFC Tap Device: Use your Popl device for seamless tap-to-share

  • Share Link: Send your card via text, email, or social media

Tip: Your QR and share link both point to the same live digital profile. Update it anytime.

How to Share:

  • Open the Popl app

  • Tap the Share icon

  • Choose from QR, Link, or NFC

  • Present to others or copy the link for remote sharing

Sharing a Teammate's Card

Popl allows team members to share each other's digital business cards directly from the mobile app. This feature is particularly useful for teams working collaboratively or representing a shared brand.

How to Share a Teammate’s Card via QR Code:

  1. Open the Popl mobile app and go to the Cards section.

  2. Select one of the QR codes from your cards to display your QR code.

  3. Tap the drop-down button at the top of the QR screen.

  4. Choose whether to share your own card or select a teammate’s card to share.

Two primary ways to collect leads with DBC Plan:

  1. Digital Business Card Scanner

  2. Lead Capture Form

Keep in mind: You can collect leads via the lead capture form through various methods such as sharing your profile link, scanning your Popl QR code, or tapping your Popl accessory to the back of someone's phone!

These tools are built for speed, accuracy, and ease of use, whether you're meeting contacts digitally or collecting physical business cards.

Digital Business Card Scanner

The Card Scanner lets you scan paper business cards using the Popl app. It converts physical card text into digital contact records using AI-powered OCR.

Keep in mind: Great for in-person events where paper business cards are still used.

How to scan a card

  1. Open the Popl app

  2. Tap the Scan icon

  3. Select Card Scanner

  4. Frame the card in your camera and snap a photo

  5. Review and edit scanned info (if needed)

  6. Tap Save to add the contact to your leads

Tip: You can add internal notes after scanning. Example: “Interested in demo, follow up next week.”

Features

  • Works offline: Scans will sync once back online

  • Built-in OCR to auto-fill details

  • Manual field editing is supported

  • Tagging and notes are enabled at the point of capture

Common issue: If scanning isn’t working, check your phone’s camera permissions under Settings → Privacy → Camera → Popl.

Lead Capture Form

The Lead Capture Form is a customizable form attached to your Popl digital card. When someone taps your card, scans your QR code, or clicks your link, the form appears as part of your profile.

Note: The Lead Capture Form is only editable from your Popl Dashboard (not in the mobile app).

How it works

  • Share your Popl profile (via QR, NFC, or link)

  • The recipient views your profile and fills out the form

  • Responses are logged instantly under Leads in your Popl dashboard

Learn more about how to customize your form outside of the Popl app here.

Briefly, follow these steps below:

  1. Log in to your Popl Dashboard

  2. Go to Card Settings

  3. Add or remove fields such as:

    • Name

    • Email

    • Phone

    • Company

    • Job Title

    • Lead qualifiers like "Product of Interest" or "Status."

  4. Choose which fields are required

  5. Save and preview your form

Tip: Test your form ahead of events to ensure everything flows as expected.

Why use it?

  • Captures info from prospects instantly

  • Streamlines lead review and syncing

  • Supports follow-up with auto-tags, statuses, and qualifiers

How to Access Captured Leads:

  1. Tap the Leads tab in the Popl app

  2. Tap a lead to view or edit

  3. Add notes, set reminders, or tag leads for prioritization

Note: You can view and manage leads directly in the app or on the Popl Dashboard.

How to Sync:

  1. Log in to your Popl Dashboard

  2. Click Leads

  3. Connect CRM (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce)

  4. Select and sync leads

Keep in mind: CRM syncing is available via the dashboard for admins.

Offline Mode + Quick Tools

The DBC tier also supports offline data collection. All captured data syncs when you're back online.

Tools Available:

  • Offline Capture: Leads stored locally

  • QR Code Sharing: Works without internet

  • Tap-to-Share: Still functions offline (device-dependent)

Tip: Test your QR and link before your event starts.

Edit and Preview Your Digital Card

Keep your profile up to date before every event or meeting.

Update Your Card:

  1. Open the Popl app

  2. Tap your profile icon (top left)

  3. Edit your name, title, photo, and links. If editing fails, ensure you are logged into the correct account in the Popl app under Settings

    1. An incorrect account login might prevent updates

  4. Tap Preview Card to see what others see

If you are unable to edit your digital business card and encounter errors:

  1. Check Your Account: Ensure you are logged into the correct account in the Popl app by navigating to Settings.

  2. Verify Your Internet Connection: A stable connection is necessary for editing.

  3. Restart the App: Sometimes, app issues can temporarily prevent editing. Restarting the app may resolve the problem.

Removing Popl Branding

To make it easier for recipients to access your digital card without additional prompts, you can remove Popl branding. This eliminates the prompt asking recipients to download the Popl app.

Steps to Remove Popl Branding:

  1. Open the Popl app.

  2. Navigate to Settings.

  3. Enable the option labeled Remove Popl Branding.
