Team Leads & Lead Context

See every lead your team has captured, not just your own, and walk into any conversation knowing who has already met someone and what was discussed.

Overview

Required subscription: Available exclusively with the Event Lead Capture (ELC) plan for teams.

Team Leads & Lead Context gives you visibility into every previous interaction your team has had with a lead, not just your own.

When you scan someone a teammate has already met, Popl surfaces who met them, at which events, how they were qualified, and the notes that were left, so you have full context before you even say hello.

Who this is for

Anyone on a Popl team using the mobile app at events: sales reps, event staff, and team admins. What you can see and edit depends on your role and your team's lead-sharing settings.

Viewing Your Team's Leads

The Leads page has two tabs:

  • My Leads shows leads you captured

  • All Team Leads shows everyone's leads, including yours

Tap any lead to open it. You'll see the full lead info, qualifiers, and notes your teammate left.

Lead Info & Lead Context

Every lead has two tabs:

Tab

What it's for

Lead Info

Where you write to a lead: qualifiers, notes, and enriched contact details

Lead Context

Where you read about a lead: who on your team has met them, the notes left, CRM insights, and full interaction history

When You Open a Teammate's Lead

What you can do depends on your role:

Role

What you can do

Member

View teammates' leads. Create and edit only your own from your teammate's lead

Subteam admin

View and edit leads owned by members in your subteam

Full team admin

View and edit any lead on the team

If you're a member viewing a teammate's lead:

You can read everything but not edit it. A bar at the bottom of the screen lets you create your own version of the lead so you can add your own qualifiers and notes. If you already have your own version, the bar takes you straight to it.

If you're an admin with access to that lead:

You can edit it directly with no extra confirmation. When you edit notes on someone else's lead, Popl shows that the note was added on their behalf. You can book a meeting with any lead, regardless of who owns it, using the calendar button in the header.

The Already Met Banner

When you create a lead for someone your team has met before, a banner appears on the create screen:

Banner color

Meaning

Blue

A teammate already met this person at the same event. It shows the event name

White

They were met at a different event, or outside any event

Tap the banner to jump to the Lead Context tab and see the full history.

Auto-Filled Lead Info

When you create a lead that has the same name and company as another lead created by your team from the same event, Popl fills in the qualifier values from the latest interaction with that lead.

You can edit any field before it loads. Anything you enter manually is kept.

Note: Notes and ownership never carry over. Notes stay tied to the person who wrote them, and the new lead is owned by you.

Reassigning Leads

You can reassign your own leads, and admins can reassign any lead they have access to. Tap the three dots at the top of the lead to reassign.

Reassigning only changes who owns that lead record; nothing else is affected. The person who originally met the lead stays visible at the top of the record, while the new owner shows inside it, so history is never lost.

This holds even if the original teammate has since left the team; they'll still show as the original owner.

FAQ

Question

Answer

Will capturing someone my teammate already met create a duplicate?

Yes, and that's intended. Every lead is its own record in Popl. Your version is owned by you and counts toward your lead total, while still showing you the full shared history. Popl will not create duplicates in your CRM when syncing leads.

Can I see leads from past events, not just the one I'm at?

Yes. Lead Context shows everyone who has met that person across all of your team's events.

Does any of this change the web dashboard?

No. These changes are in the mobile app only.
